In partnership with Auckland Council, Conservation Volunteers New Zealand (CVNZ) are undertaking important conservation work at Atiu Creek Regional Park on the Kaipara Harbour. With a generous grant from Foundation North a native plant nursery has been built in which 25000 plants can be grown every year. With the help from hundreds of volunteers, CVNZ sources the seed from the park (ecosourced), grows the plants and then plants them in the park. The plants help to filter sediment and excess nutrients from water runoff before it enters the waterways and into the Kaipara Harbour.
